YAB Dato� Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof

Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, born on 17 April 1962, is currently serving as both the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Minister of Plantation and Commodities since December 2022. He is the first Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia who originates from Sarawak, a Malaysian state in Borneo.

Having obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Malaya, Dato’ Sri Fadillah started his career as a Lawyer (Civil & Syariah). Not long after, he joined politics as a Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) member. Over the course of his career, the politician and lawyer have held many positions within the government of Malaysia, such as Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (2008-2013); Minister of Works (2013-2018); Senior Minister of Infrastructure Development (2020-2021); and Senior Minister of Works (2021-2022). To this date, he has received four Honours of Malaysia: Commander of the Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak (PGBK) in 2010; Grand Knight of the Order of Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang (SSAP) in 2014; Grand Commander of the Exalted Order of Malacca (DGSM) in 2014; and Knight Commander of the Order of the Star of Sarawak (PNBS) in 2022.
